Our Story
Music Waves was founded by Rachel Christopher, a self-confessed statistics enthusiast and lifelong pianist with a deep love for music education.
Growing up, music was more than a hobby—it was a foundation.
It brought her family together through duets, homemade musicals, and shared creativity. It offered both connection and calm. It built discipline, imagination, and resilience.
But Rachel noticed something concerning—fewer children were developing these same skills and experiences.
So she made a bold decision.
She stepped away from her career to build something meaningful:
a service that would reignite music literacy and joy in the next generation.
From humble beginnings, Rachel grew Music Waves into a trusted, multi-award-winning education provider. Over the years, she has:
- Mentored 90+ music tutors
- Built a collaborative teaching culture with shared resources and training
- Helped hundreds of students achieve milestones—including hundreds of AMEB Honours results over the past 18 years.
Today, she leads a dedicated team united by one mission:
Maximum engagement. Real musical independence.
Our Commitment to Families
As a parent herself, Rachel understands the realities of busy households.
That’s why Music Waves is built on flexibility, empathy, and genuine support—meeting parents where they are at.
Whether your child is just starting out or preparing for exams, our goal is simple:
👉 To make music a joyful, lasting part of their life.
